America's Sweethearts

Hollywood pokes fun at itself in this star-studded, romantic comedy starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julia Roberts, John Cusack and Billy Crystal. A high-maintenance superstar Gwen (Zeta-Jones); her tireless, overworked personal assistant and sister, Kiki (Roberts); her neurotic co-star and soon-to-be-ex-husband Eddie (Cusack); and, a film studio's wily publicist Lee (Crystal) converge at a remote desert resort for a press junket for Gwen and Eddie's latest and last film together, before Gwen drops the bomb that she is filing for divorce. Kiki is given the monumental task of making sure America's favorite couple pretend they are still madly in love to ensure the film's success, all the while trying to hide her true feelings for Eddie, and in the process realizing there is more to life than serving her sister. Hilarious performances are also given by Hank Azaria as Gwen's clueless, Latin lover; Seth Green as Crystal's minion sidekick; and, Christopher Walken as the film's eccentric director who has a surprise in store for everyone.
