Scenic Arts Building

The updated and expanded design restores the beauty and uniqueness that was once where the scenic back-drops to iconic films like MGM’s The Wizard of Oz were hand-painted. It brings function and modernity to the space, while still complementing the pre-existing building structure. It looks to the future while still celebrating the original Scenic Arts building built in 1939.

This innovative project reinforces SPE’s commitment to revitalizing the studio lot as we continue to invest in and improve existing structures. It’s fitting that the building is opening the same month of the 100th anniversary of Columbia Pictures – another opportunity to celebrate our studio’s legacy in the entertainment industry.
