Jolson Sings Again

Having grown restless in retirement, singing legend Al Jolson (Larry Parks) decides to return to show business, regardless of the toll it takes on his marriage. When life in the fast lane risks cutting short his comeback, Jolson follows the advice of his friend and manager, Steve Martin (William Demarest), to entertain the war-weary troops in World War II - a decision that leaves him hospitalized with malaria where he meets, and ultimately marries, an Army nurse (Barbara Hale) who lovingly returns him to health. Still hoping to resume his career, even though no one seems to want him, Jolson comes to Hollywood to help make a highly successful film and enshrine his name in the annals of show business forever.
