Knight's Tale, A

A KNIGHT'S TALE is the rousing story of an earnest young commoner named William Thatcher starring the much-loved Heath Ledger. William, with fellow cohorts Roland and Wat at his side, begins his adventure when he happens upon an unknown writer named Chaucer on the road. Together they scheme to have William pose as a knight so he can enter the jousting tournaments of Europe, enlisting Chaucer's help to forge the proper genealogy documents. As the plan is set in motion and William is enjoying success as a jousting knight, he catches the eye of a beautiful princess who is unaware of his lowly roots. Against a backdrop of rock and roll music, William and his band of medieval misfits careen their way toward impossible glory in a story that's part romance, part road trip and part exuberant swashbuckler.
