Something's Gotta Give

"Ever been married, Harry?" Diane Keaton's Erica asks Jack Nicholson's Harry. Not likely. Nicholson gives a one-of-a-kind performance as Harry Sanborn, a 63-year-old diehard bachelor who only dates women under thirty until he meets Erica Barry, the mother of his current girlfriend Marin (Amanda Peet). Erica just happens to be a famous playwright whose beauty, intelligence and wit give Harry a run for his money. Harry finds himself attracted to an "older" woman for the first time, but when he hesitates, his equally infatuated, thirty-something doctor, played by a very charming Keanu Reeves, starts to pursue Erica. Producer, writer and director Nancy Meyers, who wrote the script with "Jack and Diane" in mind, sends a powerful message about self-discovery and maturity and accurately nails the intricacies of May/September relationships in this wildly successful comedy. Nicholson and Keaton, who earned an OscarĀ® nomination for her role, have never been better. With this stellar cast, including Frances McDormand as Erica's free-spirited sister, this sophisticated romantic comedy about love at any age is a must-see.
